I just discovered this poet, her picture was on the cover of Poets&Writers magazine and although I have yet to read the article, I immediately ordered her book from amazon. This book is hot off the presses and it starts with a poem about Rosa Parks and next, a powerful poem called "Left," which gives me another sad take on the Katrina tragedy another horrible American tragedy. The poems in this book delve into the subjects that my family and I have heated discussions about. I am so looking forward to experiencing Ms. Finney's take on these very hot topics!

Day 7 of my March- Read a Poem a Day Challenge
